Malawi National Netball Team goalkeeper Towera Vinkhumbo has rejoined local netball heavyweights Kukoma Diamonds after leaving United Kingdom’s Netball Super League side Strathclyde Sirens.
Vinkhumbo made her return to her childhood outfit on Sunday when she replaced Wezzie Msiska in the team’s win over Mubas in a Rainbow Paints Blantyre and Districts Netball League match at Blantyre Youth Centre.
Diamonds Coach Noel Mussa said they welcomed back the experienced defender.
“She felt it wise to rejoin her team as she is looking for international offers. This is a big boost to us. She will help bring stability to the defence as we want to defend the league and win the national trophy,” Mussa said.
Vinkhumbo has played for Strathclyde Sirens for four seasons, having joined from Severn Stars, who she played for during the 2020 season when she moved from Diamonds.
