Cigarette manufacturer Credible Investments Limited (CIL), has challenged the Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) to provide concrete evidence to support their allegations that the company manufactures and sells counterfeit, illegal, and expired products in the country.
At a recent press conference held by CDEDI Executive Director Sylvester Namiwa alleged that CIL sells expired, illegal, and counterfeit products on the market, evades taxes, and employs undocumented immigrants
In a statement issued on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, CIL accuses CDEDI of attempting to tarnish the company’s reputation with unfounded claims.
Executive Director Abbas Nasser, argues that CDEDI lacks any factual basis for asserting that CIL produces counterfeit products, including its popular Ceasar Cigarettes brand.
