Alert issued on Malawi’s Covid19 status
Jobe: we still have issues to address.

Health rights campaigners have expressed concern with the resurgence of Covid 19 in the country, although the disease was declared no longer a public health concern in May last year.

The call follows a continued rise in cases of Covid 19 in some parts of the country, with Nsanje district alone recording about 13 cases in the past 24 hours.

Speaking to MIJ Online, George Jobe one of the health rights campaigners in the country said although there has been an order on the disease, there is now a pressing need for people to be cautious.

Meanwhile, Dr Wilfred Chalamira Nkhoma, Co-chairperson for the presidential taskforce on Covid 19 through said they are meanwhile encouraging people to receive booster vaccines.
