The Kingstons embark on empowerment drive

By Jimmy Chazama:

The Kingstons are a formidable couple who have established a standout brand, connecting them to roles such as ambassadors for a community empowerment initiative.

Amapiano star Zeze and entrepreneur Dorothy Kingston recently partnered Pikho Farms as brand ambassadors for a community empowerment enterprise.

The initiative is sponsored by the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Programme in collaboration with the University of Pretoria.

The K20 million drive aims to empower communities through sustainable practices and entrepreneurship, while also encouraging students to apply for MasterCard scholarships.

Pikho Farms is situated in Lilongwe, Chitedze, within the Area of Traditional Authority Njewa, where the partnership was officially launched.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Pikho Farms to amplify the impact of this initiative. Through our brand, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of community empowerment and the opportunities available through MasterCard scholarships, empowering more individuals to make a positive difference,” the Kingstons said.

Pikho Farms proprietor Pilirani Tendai Khoza expressed enthusiasm about working with the power couple to bring about change in the community.

“Their support will not only enhance our impact but also introduce our work to a broader audience, promoting sustainable practices and community empowerment,” Khoza said.

Village Head Chidelu in whose area the launch took place, welcomed the partnership, saying the benefits it will bring to the community and the country will be for Malawians.

“Collaborations are crucial. As a community, with their assistance, we will supply tree seedlings to organisations across the country, promoting tree planting and community empowerment, contributing to a sustainable future,” the traditional leader said.
