
As the world commemorates individuals living with both visual and hearing impairments, the Executive Director of the Visual Hearing Impairment Membership Association (VIHEMA), Ezekiel Kumwenda, has highlighted the severity of deafblindness as one of the most extreme forms of disability globally.
In an interview with MIJ Online, Kumwenda emphasized the pressing need for the Malawian government to prioritize training and deploying professional sign language interpreters and specialists to support individuals with deafblindness.
