Renowned poet Q Malewezi has announced his upcoming memoir titled No Dad Club: A Son’s Walk With Grief to be released on April 17 2025.
The celebrated poet, who is also special advisor to President Lazarus Chakwera on creative industries, announced this on his Facebook page saying the memoir is a deeply personal journey exploring loss, grief and the power of connection.
“Join me as we reflect and share. This project has been a journey of introspection and storytelling and I cannot wait to share it,” he said.
In November last year, the ‘People’ creator announced on his Facebook page his 2025 plans and it included the memoir as well as My Malawi: A Children’s Book About Malawi and Fisi : A Series of Monologues.
Q who also spearheads Kweza Arts said on Monday that since his father’s death, he has wanted to write about the series of events that unfolded – from his illness to his passing.
“I witnessed it all. After the burial, I faced numerous challenges as I navigated my grief. I wanted to capture both the events and the journey that followed,” he said.
The poet added: “Grief is a universal experience; almost everyone has endured it and continues to do so in different ways.”
Q said he hopes that the memoir will help others articulate their own experiences and, in doing so, remind them that they are not alone.
The poet has albums such as The Road Taken, Little Discoveries and People.
