FCB Nyasa Big Bullets top fans bury hatchet

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets national supporters committee leaders have resolved their differences after the club’s vice president Escort Chinula brought in other stakeholders to intervene in their wrangles.

The wrangles resulted into the resignation of treasurer Chingeni Gumbala.

Chinula engaged boxing promoter Mike ‘Bangwe One’ Chitenje and former Bullets national supporters committee chairperson Isaac ‘Jomo’ Osman who now runs his own franchise Ntopwa football clubs.

According to a source, the meeting took place at Bullets offices in Mandala, Blantyre, on Wednesday evening.

“The Vice President decided to call for this meeting after noting that the differences were spilling over to other supporters, thereby dividing the whole setup. He involved Jomo and Bangwe One because they interact well with the supporters leaders,” the source said.

Chitenje confirmed his role in the mediation, describing the talks as fruitful.

“We should thank the vice president of the club for realising the importance of resolving the matter as it was also affecting the entire club. He sought our intervention because he knows us as peers.

“On the talks, I cannot go into specifics but I can comfortably confirm that both parties opened up and they buried the hatchet,” Chitenje said.

Following the discussions, Gumbala reversed his resignation and pledged to continue serving the club.

“The committee is intact and Gumbala is within the system in the same capacity, working to help the club to reclaim its glory,” Chitenje said.

Both Mwamadi and Gumbala confirmed resolving their differences but refused to divulge full details.

“The issue is now water under the bridge. We are all one and our wish is to help the team,” Mwamadi said.

Gumbala said the talks were timely.

“We met as a family with the aim of resolving all our differences. Everyone is now working towards helping the team regain its lost glory,” he said.

Bullets won an unprecedented quadruple last season, successfully defending the TNM Super League and FDH Bank Cup and lifting the Airtel Top 8 and Castel Challenge Cup.

However, their performance this season has been below expectations with just three wins, six draws and one loss in the top flight league.

The People’s Team lies fifth on the table with 15 points from 10 matches, 11 points behind leaders Silver Strikers.
