Silver Strikers have wrapped up the TNM Super League with a 100 percent home record.
The Bankers, who have finished top with 37 points from 15 matches, won all their 11 home matches.
Silver dropped points in four matches which they drew against PremierBet Dedza Dynamos, Mighty Wakawaka Tigers, Kamuzu Barracks and Moyale Barracks.
They stand proudly as the only unbeaten team so far this season.
The Reserve Bank of Malawi-sponsored outfit’s coach Peter ‘Mjojo’ Mponda acknowledged in an interview yesterday that turning their Silver Stadium into a fortress, was the centrepiece of their good run.
He said: “That separated us from the rest. We were also able to collect full points on the road.
“That said, we still have a long way to go and, hopefully, we can engage an extra gear in the second round.”
The former South Africa second-tier league side Black Leopards coach acknowledged that teams will come flat out in the second round, saying: “That’s when the going gets tough.”
Legendary football commentator Stevie Liwewe Banda said Silver have an ace up their sleeve.
“Unless they are careless in the second round, they are in control of the race, but let’s see what happens in the second round,” he said.
Twelve points separate the Bankers and second-placed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, who have a game in hand.
