TNM Super League champions Silver Strikers have agreed a deal in principle with Mzuzu City Hammers to sign Nigerian striker Samuel Adeyemi.
Adeyemi could be Silver’s first signing in the ongoing player transfer window.
Silver Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba asked for more time before commenting on the matter.
“Let us talk later,” Chimimba said.
But Hammers General Secretary Benjamin Thole said the club had already accepted a bid from Silver.
“It is almost a done deal on our part. The player is already in Lilongwe discussing personal terms with Silver,” Thole said.
However, Thole did not disclose the players’ price tag but he hinted that Silver would pay the fee plus a player.
Silver’s Francis Nyirenda, who was on loan at Chitipa, is expected to join Hammers as part of the deal.
Adeyemi is expected to sign a two-year contract with Silver.
The Nigerian had a short stint with Zambian top flight side Zesco United last year before he joined Hammers on a free transfer.
At Silver, he will compete for places against Binwel Katinji, Stain Davie, Charles Chipala and compatriot Friday Osagie.
Silver are expected to take part in the 2025 Caf Champions League.
Meanwhile, Civil Serviced United have rejected a bid from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets for defender Masiya Manda.
This comes a few days after the Lilongwe-based club also rejected another bid from Mighty Mukuru Wanderers for the defender.
Civil Chief Executive Officer Edgar Chipalanjira insisted that the player was not for sale.
“We have also responded to Bullets that Manda will not be allowed to leave,” he said.
On his part, Bullets Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga confirmed that his side had joined the race for the defender.
“Civil have informed us that he is not for sale, so we respect the club’s decision,” Chigoga said.
