By Mabvuto Kambuwe:
Zimbabwe’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Platinum FC Coach Norman Mapeza has heaped praise on three Malawian players, namely defender Nickson Nyasulu, midfielder Precious Phiri and striker Vincent Nyangulu.
Nyasulu and Phiri have already agreed terms with Platinum whereas Nyangulu is still on trials after leaving Mighty Wanderers.
The Zimbabwe Warriors former coach said the three players had caught his eye since they arrived in Zimbabwe.
“So far, so good but I will talk more towards the beginning of the season,” Mapeza said.
Nyasulu, who has been a mainstay at Bullets, left the club after he declined to extend his contract alongside fellow defender Gomezgani Chirwa.
On the part of Phiri, he was transfer-listed whereas Nyangulu was released at Wanderers at the end of his contract, having spent last season at Creck Sporting Club on loan.
All the three players were not readily available for their comments yesterday.
The three players are with Platinum as they relocated to Bulawayo for three-week camp training ahead of the season.
The Zvishavane-based club would be looking to reclaim the championship, having missed it for two consecutive seasons to Ngezi Platinum and Simba Bhora.
