Mighty Wanderers incoming coach will have to win the TNM Super League and defend Castel Challenge Cup in 2025 season.
Wanderers are destined to name Bob Mpinganjira as the team’s coach after helping the side win Castel Challenge Cup and finishing second in the league.
However, there are reports linking the club with foreign coaches too.
Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi, speaking on Mtedza Mtedza sports programme on Times Television, said winning two titles would be great.
“We will not settle for nothing short of the TNM Super League and, at least, defend the Castel Challenge Cup, the only trophy we won last year.
“If you look at our cabinet, we do not have the league title and it has been a couple of years now, we badly need to win it this year,” Ndovi said.
Meanwhile, Wanderers have not yet concluded on who will be head coach despite Mpinganjira being the favourite if the team’s board decides to hire a local coach.
Ndovi said the future of Wanderers coach would be finalised soon.
“We will likely conclude this coming week and our backroom staff will be on the ground soon,” Ndovi said.
Mpinganjira took over the mantle after Meck Mwase resigned.
Initially, Mwase replaced Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan who stepped down amid pressure.
