Lulu makes first song with Driemo

Singer and producer Lulu has released his first song for 2025 titled ‘Khalidwe’.

It encourages people to be humble and love one another.

Recorded at a number of studios including his Mathumela and BFB’s Exclusive, the afro-pop and rhumba single, which has already attracted reactions from people, has seen Lulu working with Driemo for the first time.

“It is a song inspired by day-to-day life but I am looking at the way we live with each other and I am likening this to a wedding. In most cases, it is not the drinks or food offered at a wedding that attract patronage but, rather, the behaviour of the couple,” Lulu said.

He said the country was failing to progress because there was lack of love and tolerance.

“Everyone wants to be on top. There is no love among us; we are full of jealousy and there is no humility in us. This song is encouraging us to stay humble,” Lulu said.

He said his connection with Driemo stems from their working together in a project in Mangochi.

“He is such a humble soul and, so, it was easy working with him,” Lulu said.

Driemo was not readily available for his comment on Monday.
