Kukoma Ntopwa Women Coach Isaac ‘Jomo’ Osman has said they are considering beefing up the squad ahead of Cosafa Qualifiers for the Caf Women’s Club Champions League to be held in South Africa in August this year.
Ntopwa secured the slot after winning the Goshen- Football Association of Malawi National Women’s Championship for the second time.

In the final, the side defeated Silver Strikers Ladies 4-3 on post-match penalties following a one-all draw in regulation time at Mpira Stadium in Chiwembe Township, Blantyre, last week.
Ntopwa Technical Director and founder Isaac ‘Jomo’ Osman said they would like to beef up the squad.
“However, we are sceptical because we do not see our rivals loaning out players to us at this moment. If we had an opportunity, we would have strengthened every position to have a deep squad.
“At the same time, we do not want to beef up the squad for the sake of it. We need to bring in players who would add value to the side. As such, we are treading cautiously while hoping that our opponents will release some players,” the Blantyre City Deputy Mayor said.
The Amaghetto Kids will relive their Cosafa-Caf Qualifiers experience in the 2022 edition when they triumphed 5-3 over Ascent Academy on spot-kicks after the match ended 1-1 in fulltime.
Football analyst Dan Makiyi advised Ntopwa to start preparations for the regional showpiece.
“They will be returning to South Africa for the second time.
“Obviously, they have a clue on what to expect. They need to use lessons they drew from their first experience to perform better than last time,” Makiyi said.
Ntopwa received K9 million for emerging champions and will represent Malawi at the Cosafa Qualifiers of the CAF Women’s Club Champions League in August.
In the final, Kondawu Banda gave Ntopwa the lead with a simple tap-in in the 15th minute.
Ireen Khumalo restored parity for Silver Ladies with a direct free-kick six minutes to time.
