First Capital Bank (FCB), who are sponsors of TNM Super League deposed champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, have pumped K10 million into the Red Carpet end-of-season awards event slated for this Monday at Golden Peacock Hotel in Blantyre.
The bank’s head of marketing Twikale Chirwa made the announcement at the team’s offices in Blantyre Wednesday.
Chirwa said the awards were aimed at motivating players and technical staff members.
“’Everyone is aware that Bullets swept all trophies last year but, due to our busy schedule, we were unable to award them. We will award some of the current best players and some legends,” Chirwa said.
The theme for this year’s awards is ‘Awarding Excellence’.
On his part, Bullets Head of Marketing Kelvin Moyo hailed FCB for sponsoring the event.
“It is a good development as we have been struggling to find sponsorship for the event. This is the time to reward all people who did well for the club,” Moyo said.
This year’s awards event has six categories, with 17 players nominated for the accolades.
The top category is the coveted Player of the Season award, which is given to Bullets’ best player.
Three players namely striker Babatunde Adepoju, Nickson Nyasulu and Gomezgani Chirwa have been nominated for the Player of the Season award.
