Betway has hinted at extending its jersey-branding partnership with newly crowned TNM Super League champions Silver Strikers.
The company signed a one-year partnership deal, valued at K65 million, with Silver before the start of the season.
Betway Chief Operations Officer Charles Phiri said discussions between the two parties had commenced.
“We are looking beyond the one-year partnership with the club. We want to have a two or three-year partnership.
“So far, discussions are at an advanced stage,” Phiri said.
Phiri said the company was proud to be associated with a winning brand.
“The club has done well by winning the TNM Super League.
“We are happy that we contributed to the success of the club,” he said.
The partnership with Silver saw Betway’s logo adorning the front of the club’s jersey, marking the first such deal in the team’s history.
On his part, Silver Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba said the one-year deal yielded benefits on and off the pitch.
“We are negotiating with all our partners. We are also looking for new partners for the upcoming season,” Chimimba said.
Among other things, Chimimba said the partnership also strengthened their bond with the fans.
Silver have already expressed interest in taking part in the 2025 Caf Champions League after winning the TNM Super League title.
This is Silver’s first TNM Super League title in 11 years.
The Reserve Bank of Malawi already approved the club’s participation in the continental elite club competition.
