Football Association of Malawi (Fam) is yet to clear clubs to participate in the 2025 TNM Super League season.
This follows the delay by the association to finalise 2025 Club Licencing processes.
This could be a repeat of last season, when the season kicked off before the teams were cleared.
The development contravenes Confederation of African Football (Caf) rules and regulations on Club Licencing.
Fam faces a race against time to complete the process before the kickoff of the league this weekend.
Fam started the process in January this year.
Fam Club Licencing Manager Clement Kafwafwa did not answer our calls Wednesday.
Random interviews with Super League team officials Wednesday revealed that the association was yet to communicate to the clubs on when they would get their licences for the 2025 football season.

Mighty Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi said his club was still waiting for feedback from Fam, having submitted all the documents.
“We have not received feedback from Fam but I am sure the licences will be produced this week,” Ndovi said.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets were the only club that got a licence at the time of kickoff whereas the rest of the teams got their licences in the course of the season.
On his part, Creck Sporting Club Chairperson Muhamad Selemani said he was also waiting for feedback.
“We have been interacting with Fam officials on the process. We hope that, very soon, they will be able to give us feedback,” he said.
Earlier this week, Fam approved 11 stadia to host elite matches this season as part of club licencing procedures.
Meanwhile, sports analyst Parry Chinyama has said the delay is an indication that all the teams will be licenced to participate in league activities.
“My assumption is that all the teams passed the test. It will be unfair for teams to fail the test at the eleventh hour,” Chinyama said.
For clubs to be granted licences, they are supposed to meet requirements such as financial capacity and legal ownership.
Fam Club Licencing regulations are graded into three categories, namely A, B and C.
A club cannot be granted a licence if it fails any criteria in A category.
