FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have reduced their match day ticket prices following an outcry from some of their supporters, Times Sport has learnt.
Following the development, an open stand ticket on Match Day would be costing K5,000 instead of K6,000.
The Airtel Top 8 champions have bowed down to supporters’ pressure.
Some Bullets supporters expressed discontentment with the ticket prices on Sunday, when the majority of them were outside Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre, as the Peoples Team played against Songwe Border United in a TNM Super League match.
The popular ‘Biafra stand’ failed to fill up to capacity following failure by most of the fans to pay K6,000.
A Lunzu Township-based Bullets supporter Chikondelo Juma said the tickets were expensive, hence pleading with club officials to reduce the charges.
“We are so much in love with this team and operating from Lunzu to Kamuzu Stadium is costly. To think of lunch and other essentials like transport, K6,000 for the open stands is quite exorbitant,” Juma said.
A female supporter who resides in Chilomoni Township, but did not want to be mentioned, echoed the sentiments.

“We are disappointed with the high prices. Most supporters failed to watch the team’s opening matches in the Super League due to the ticket prices. We spend a lot of money on transport; therefore, the authorities should consider lowering the prices,” she said.
Bullets acting Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga said the People’s Team management would reduce prices during the next matches.
“We will reduce ticket prices. For instance, an open stand ticket on Match Day would now cost K5,000, down from K6,000.
“We have taken heed of the supporters concerns and we will further sit down and see how best we can meet in the middle,” Chigoga said.
Bullets National Committee Supporters Chairperson Stone Mwamadi said he was sympathising with fellow supporters.
“The economy is bad and most people are struggling. It is fair that management has considered the issue of ticket price reduction,” he said.
Currently, Bullets top the TNM Super League after winning three matches to collect nine points.
Bullets beat champions Silver Strikers 1-0 and Creck Sporting Club 4-1 before smashing Songwe Border United 7-0.
