Artists led by Great Angels Choir brightened Christmas Day with their vibes that included reggae at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe in a concert dubbed Nza Yahweh Christmas Celebration.
Pulling an impressive audience, the concert set a beautiful melodious tone for Christmas with people singing and dancing all the way.
This was a stage that united artists as there was no separation of gospel and secular artists with all of them sharing the same stage.
In fact Great Angels Choir’s music director Ephraim Zonda described the show as a ‘one-for-all concert’ emphasising that Jesus Christ’s message is for everyone.
It was a stage that sampled explosive performances of Kell Kay, Kamuzu Barracks Gospel Singers, Shammah Vocalz, Limbani Simenti, Billy Kaunda, Skeffa Chimoto, Anthony ‘Mr Cool’ Makondetsa and Black Missionaries.
Great Angels Choir who recently shared the stage with South African gospel music group, Joyous Celebration at the Mega Gospel Concert at the venue, left no stone unturned as headliners dishing out songs such ‘Ufumu Umodzi,’, ‘Msalolere’ and ‘Akuyimilira Ndani.’
Zonda was short of words with the support that people gave them.
“We thank God for the success of the show. As Great Angels Choir, we believe that all musicians are united, which is why we brought together secular and gospel artists for this concert,” he said.
He said in their performances, all the artists shared good news messages, emphasizing unity being on Christmas.
The other highlight of the show was when gospel musician Peter Uyu Mlangeni, who was involved in a car accident in September last year, took the stage.
Mlangeni updated the audience on his recovery, thanking them for their support before performing serving one of his songs.
Many patrons showed their appreciation by giving him money while he performed.
The concert was also patronised by politicians.
