Musician Tay Grin will star at this year’s Canex Wknd in Algeria next month.
The artist, who has been on the move in and outside the country recently, said he is honoured to represent Southern Africa at Canex Wknd 2024 which runs from October 16 to 19. “This is huge for Malawi and Africa as we come together under the theme ‘One People United in Culture’. I am proud to carry the torch of unity through the power of our rich African heritage,” the ‘2 by 2’ creator said.
He said that his music “has always been a celebration of who we are, a reminder that our culture is our greatest unifying tool”. “As I step onto this global stage, I carry with me the spirit of our ancestors and the dreams of our future generations. Together, let us show the world the strength of a united Africa,” the rapper said.
Recently, poet Q Malewezi, who is also special adviser to President Lazarus Chakwera on creative industries, announced that he would be performing at the event. This is Africa’s largest annual creative gathering.
