Ife Kuno brand comes to town

Youthful creatives, led by Don Chisenga, have fashioned Ife Kuno brand. The brand will be launched at Kaza Kitchen in Lilongwe on Thursday.

Chisenga said on Wednesday that Ife Kuno brand sought to style stories through activities such as live music and family games.

He said, through the brand, they wanted to ignite fresh energies in the space. “Our aim is to establish this brand as a social initiative that bridges the gap in music and art education for deserving youths,” Chisenga, who is a graduate of Music Crossroads Academy in Lilongwe, said.

He said Ife Kuno envisioned a vibrant and thriving cultural landscape where traditional and contemporary arts converge to inspire creativity, foster community engagement and promote cultural heritage.

“The mission of Ife Kuno is to provide artists, performers and cultural practitioners with a platform to showcase their talents, share their stories and connect with audiences through innovative and inclusive programming while promoting cultural exchange and education,” Chisenga said.

He said Ife Kuno was selfsponsored and that, in order to keep running and getting the word out, they would be selling merchandise, including African print T-shirts.

The launch is expected to be spiced up by performances from Maggie Kadrum, Sulu and Theophilus.
