Nyasa Music Group and Kanema Online have launched a competition which will see one or two lucky winners travelling to South Africa with award-winning musician Kell Kay for a gig.
The all-expenses-paid outing will accord the winners an opportunity to experience a Joburg Invasion Music Concert, including behind the scenes, in the Rainbow Nation.
The music concert, to be held on April 27, 2025, will feature top artists such as South African Amapiano star Focalistic. Dubbed ‘I am Flying to SA with Kell Kay’, the contest, valued at K4 million, is expected to last for five days.
Those interested in participating in the competition are being asked to get more details through Kell Kay and Kanema Online Facebook pages. Kanema Online Managing Director Letson Kamangeni said on Tuesday, during a press briefing, that the move was part of promoting the country’s creative industry.
“After producing and streaming events across the country and with our regional market expansion, we are now going international,” Kamangeni said.
He said, through the initiative, they wanted to showcase “how our artists perform internationally and get to show their adventures”. Kamangeni said they were running the competition transparently, hence engaging the Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (Magla).
Kell Kay has since invited fans to join the competition. “I am excited and looking forward to travelling with one or two lucky winners to South Africa. It will be a great event because I will be sharing the stage with top artists,” the ‘Muchedwa’ maker said.
Kanema Online, which is into video production and streaming, is expected to beam the concert live on their Facebook page.
