Rapper Tay Grin has organised a free-of-charge concert, dubbed Ultimate Youth Takeover, to be held at Masintha Ground in Lilongwe on Saturday. The concert comes barely a week after the artist, popularly known as Nyau King, experienced the From The Ashes concert at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.

The concert, spearheaded by fellow artists, was aimed at raising funds to support Tay Grin, who lost property to fire accident. Tay Grin said on Wednesday that the concert sought to provide young artists with the platform to showcase their talents.

“This is also part of giving back to the community because it supported me by attending a fundraising show last Saturday,” he said.

Tay Grin, who is Malawi Tourism Council Ambassador, said the concert was more than just an entertainment avenue.

“This concert is a chance for young people to shine, to showcase their talents and celebrate their resilience. I want to inspire them to rise above life’s challenges and believe in their own potential,” he said.

The ‘Chipapapa’ creator hailed players such as Zathu Youth Club and Kawale Youth Club and Banja la Mtsogolo, who have partnered him to offer health related services to the youth on the day.

The event’s spokesperson Sbusiswe Chasweka said they were set for the event and called upon people to come in large numbers and be part of the fun.
