Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) Chief Executive Officer Henry Kamata has embarked on an engagement exercise to appreciate challenges rocking associations.
Kamata has so far held interface meetings with seven associations as the institution tries to promote various sport codes.
“As part of our ongoing engagements with our key stakeholders, sports associations, we held interface meetings with seven associations.
“These engagements are essential because they provide space for information sharing between MNCS and sports associations. They also afford us the opportunity to reflect on the milestones and challenges in the sports associations,” he said.
Kamata said they would help the associations to address their shortcomings.
In Mzuzu, Kamata and his entourage met with Bawo Association of Malawi, Malawi Boxing Association (Maba), Volleyball Association of Malawi, Malawi Pool Association, Wrestling Association of Malawi and Cycling Federation of Malawi and Badminton Association of Malawi among others.
Maba President Pyson Likagwa said several issues were discussed including the need to equip technical officials with the latest knowledge and skills to promote various sport codes.
“The engagements are crucial because we discussed challenges and possible solutions,” Likagwa said.
