Malawi Women’s National Football Team Coach Lovemore Fazili has said morale is high in camp ahead of two international friendly matches against Zambia’s Copper Queens.
The Scorchers will face the Copper Queens in the first match at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka tomorrow before another match on Tuesday at the same venue.
Fazili said the girls were looking in shape ahead of the matches
“ T h e players are eager to impress. I am also happy with the attitude of the players that are in camp,” Fazili said.
Meanwhile, France-based striker Tabitha Chawinga, who plays for Olympique Lyonnais, joined camp in Lusaka Thursday.
Fazili said the arrival of the foreign country-based players had also ignited morale in camp.

“Tabitha is a top player and I am happy that she is with us,” he said.
The Kazakhstan-based duo of defender Bernadette Mkandawire and striker Vanesa Chikupira is expected to join camp today.
Kansas Current City striker Temwa Chawinga, Sabina Thom, Rose Kabzere and Chimwemwe Madise are already in camp ahead of the matches.
The Scorchers are using the matches to prepare for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) second round qualifiers.
Malawi will either face Angola or Zimbabwe in the second round.
The team progressed to the second round without kicking a ball after Congo Brazzaville pulled out of the qualifiers due to lack of preparations.
On the other hand, Zambia have also assembled a squad comprising reigning Caf Women’s Footballer of the Year Barbara Banda and Rachel Kundananji.
