Lilongwe-based couple, Paul Matumbi and Deborah Kaunda, winners of the Castel Malawi Pomme Breeze competition left the country on Wednesday for Dubai.

The couple who are into farming as well as entrepreneurship, were announced winners last year after getting more likes on social media.

The competition invited participants to take pictures while enjoying Pomme Breeze and post them on their social media pages and tag Pomme Breeze page.

The three-day all expenses paid trip has cost a total amount of K20 million.

Castel Malawi Communications Manager Sheelin Laher said they were excited to have have fulfilled their promise.

“This shows we care about helping people achieve their dreams and supporting young business people like Paul and Deborah. We are thrilled they will be flying Malawi’s flag in Dubai,” Laher said.

Laher said that they have plans to organise another competition in future to promote youth, since they are among their customers.

On his part, Matumbi said, as a couple, they were happy to travel to Dubai.

“This is part of exposure and we are looking forward to visit Miracle Gardens and the Museum of the Future among other places,” he said.
