Mighty Wanderers not bad on the market—Coach

Mighty Wanderers Coach Bob Mpinganjira has said the side might beef up the squad with one or two players to complete their signings before the transfer window closes.

The team’s former interim coach has penned a year-long contract to take charge of the Lali Lubani Road side.

Wanderers have already bolstered their squad with striker Promise Kamwendo, goalkeeper Chancy Mtete, midfielder Nanison Mbewe and defender Masiya Manda.

However, Mpinganjira said Wanderers might add two players to complete their plans on the market.

“We are looking at bringing one or two players to finalise our transfer dealings.

“However, we are not bad, if you look at our squad. We have a healthy and competitive team,” Mpinganjira said.

Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi said the reinforcements would depend on the coach’s assessment of the squad.

“Once we start our preparations [today], the coach will direct us on who to get,” he said.

Mpinganjira signed his contract with Wanderers on Saturday and described his appointment as an honour, promising to work jointly with his backroom staff to bring glory to the Nomads.

Mpinganjira got his Caf A Coaching Licence in 2016, having undergone short-term coaching courses in England and Budapest, Hungary.

Last season, he helped Wanderers to win the Castel Challenge Cup, having guided the Nomads to winning the Fisd Challenge Cup in 2019.
