‘Justice’ film budget increases to K13million

By Jimmy Chazama:

The cost for a film titled Justice, set to premiere on Friday at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe, has reached K13 million, movie producer Brazio Kanyong’o said on Tuesday.

Kanyong’o attributed the increase to the devaluation of the Kwacha.

“We have had to navigate unexpected obstacles, including the devaluation of the kwacha, which added an extra K5 million to the initial budget of K8 million,” he said.

Kanyong’o, who is also an actor, said despite the setback, they remained resolute and completed their mission for the film, which tackles, among other topics, human trafficking.

“We believe that Justice has the power to inspire change and spark important conversations about human trafficking. We need to talk about it,” he said.

Actress Joyce Mhango Chavula said she is honoured to be part of the movie.

“Human trafficking is a serious issue that affects many lives, and it is important that we raise awareness about it. Justice teaches us about the importance of being vigilant and taking action to combat human trafficking,” the creator from Lilongwe said.

The movie is a production of UGM Graphics and Magic Promotions, directed by Adam Ogamah.
