Using music and art in general, Goma dared fellow musicians to take the lead in using their art to tackle important issues such as climate change.

“We, as artists, reach out to the masses. Let us entertain people and, at the same time, use the talent to bring about change. Let us use art to challenge leaders out there to be responsible and accountable in order to bring about positive change,” he said.

Goma said he uses music to challenge people in order to bring about solutions to problems.

“We, as human beings, need to look at the way we have harmed the environment through bad practices. The results are the cyclones we are experiencing,” he said.

With songs like ‘Sowera’, Goma kept the stage sparkling.

There were even moments when he played covers that included the popular Les Wanyika track ‘Sina Makosa’ and Oliver Mtukudzi’s ‘Neria’.

Goma’s performance was a continuation of Samax’s routine, which was also exceptional and included songs done by other artists such as Nedi Mapira.

Samax also took time out to recognise veteran musician Giddes Chalamanda’s feats.

Chalamanda was hospitalised last week.

As such, Samax decided to offer the song ‘Mkazi Ndi Mawaya’.

Led by musician Annemarie Quinn, who is from the United Kingdom but is based in the country, contemporary dancer Robert Magasa and musician John Fire, who is currently in United Kingdom, Mangolongondo Night takes place every last weekend of the month.

“We are thankful for the support that people continue to give Mangolongondo Night. This is a platform that is aimed at showcasing talent and also raising funds for a good cause,” Magasa said.

Mangolongondo Night opened in 2025 with three artists namely legendary Boniface Ndamera of Lucky Stars Band famed for the hit ‘Chinafuna Mbale’, Annemarie Quinn and John Fire.
