Award-winning actor and filmmaker Yusuf Kachingwe, popularly known as Genuine Kado, is back with a new film titled Revenge of the Ghost.
Kachingwe, famous for producing movies that delve into magic and mysteries, comes to the fold after an eight-year break.
He said yesterday that he was excited with the response that he is receiving since the film hit the market.
“It has been long but, at times, you need to get that breather and then come back with all the freshness. This is just the beginning because I have plans to release more movies this year,” Kachingwe said.
The film, which can be accessed on YouTube, tells the story of a man whose spirit seeks revenge after he was killed by debtors.
Some of the actors starring in the film include Jonathan Chakachadza.
Kachingwe is also known for his roles in films such as Magwiragwira, Mudzionetsetsa and Anthu Usana.
Film Association of Malawi (Fama) President Dorothy Kingston has since hailed filmmakers for being active in the production of films.
“This is a sign of progress. We need to continue producing more movies for the market to provide the much-needed entertainment and, at the same time, tell our stories,” Kingston said.
