Creck Sporting Club Coach Joseph Kamwendo believes it is just a matter of time before the team rediscovers its winning formula.
Kamwendo was reacting to the team’s poor start to the season following a 1-4 loss to Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos at Champion Stadium last Sunday.
The former Flames and Mighty Wanderers midfielder said “let teams underrate us at their own peril”.
“It was a bad start for us and no one expected it. We wanted to start on a high but this happens in football,” Kamwendo said.
Creck have a tough assignment as they face FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the Airtel Top 8 quarterfinals first leg at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre this Saturday.
They will also face Bullets in the TNM Super League at the same venue on Wednesday.
Kamwendo admitted that it would not be easy to upset Bullets at their own backyard.
“We know Bullets are a very good team. So, we have to up our game to get a result,” he said.
Before the start of the season, Creck bolstered their squad with goalkeeper Brighton Munthali, defender Miracle Gabeya, strikers Isaac Msiska, Hassan Hussein, Misheck Bottoman, Kondwani Chilembwe, Tathendwa Willard, Patrick Mupanzi and Akuzike Lifa.
Creck Chairperson Muhammad Selemani, while admitting that they were concerned with the 1-4 loss to Dedza, was optimistic that the team would bounce back quickly.
“We had a meeting with the technical panel and we expect an improvement,” Selemani said.
The Lilongwe-based outfit finished on position six in their debut season in the TNM Super League
