FCB Nyasa Big Bullets new Head Coach Peter Mponda has disclosed that the team would begin 2025 season preparations on January 27 to have ample time to turn around the team’s fortunes.
Bullets surrendered three trophies last season after their successful campaign in 2023 season when they won a quadruple.
The development comes after Bullets parted ways with eight players
Mponda said he does not have much time to fix the team hence opting to start training on January 27.
“It is a new season, a new team and a new philosophy. We have plenty of work to do during the season. So, we are starting with both old and new players,” Mponda said.
Meanwhile, Bullets have released eight players under different circumstances.
Zimbabwean duo Collins Mujuru and Ronald Chitiyo are among the players who have been released on mutual consent.
The others are Felix Dumakude, Kesten Simbi, Matthews Masamba, Precious Phiri and Thomson Magombo.
Kenneth Pasuwa, son to former Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa, has left the team following the expiry of his contract.
In a statement released Friday, Bullets also indicated that the team had offered contracts to captain Gomezgani Chirwa, Nickson Nyasulu and Stanley Billiat.
Currently, Chirwa and Nyasulu have been linked with moves away from the team.
Bullets acting Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga confirmed releasing players on mutual understanding.
