Association (NFCA) Chairperson Aubrey Nankhuni has changed his stance and will defend his position against challenger Audrow Makonyola.
NFCA is expected to hold its elective annual general meeting (EAGM) on March 22 in Salima District.
Makonyola, who is chairperson for Central Region Football Coaches Association, made his intentions clear last month.
Ironically, Nankhuni, who earlier said he would not contest, has made a U-turn after revealing to fellow executive committee members that he wanted to defend the post.

“I have unfinished business at the association and will contest. I am currently fighting to get a nomination and, with God’s favour, I am sure I will secure one,” he said.
Makonyola came public last month, declaring his interest in contesting for the post.
Meanwhile, NFCA General Secretary Dave Mpima and Treasurer Duncan Nhlame are ineligible to contest, having served maximum terms.
Mpima confirmed that he was ineligible to contest.
“Our executive [committee] agreed to have free and fair elections and the two of us are, indeed, out of the polls.
“We also agreed that any member who did not pay his or her membership for the past six months will not be allowed to contest. These are some of the eligibility requirements we, as an executive board, agreed on,” Mpima said.
