TNM Super League: Nomads reduce gap to nine as first round ends

In an exhilarating conclusion to the first round of the TNM Super League, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Creck Sporting Clubs emerged victorious, securing maximum points with impressive 2-0 wins against Baka City and Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos, respectively.

At the Karonga Stadium, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers faced off against Baka City in a highly anticipated match.

The first half ended goalless, but Wanderers’ persistence paid off in the second half.

Issac Kaliati broke the deadlock in the 48th minute, followed by Misheck Botomani’s winning goal, sealing a 2-0 victory for Wanderers.

Meanwhile, at Dimba in Mchinji, Creck Sporting Club hosted Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos.

Creck SC dominated the match, scoring two goals in the first half through George Chiomba (5th minute) and Arnold Kiyama (41st minute).

Despite Dedza Dynamos’ efforts to mount a comeback in the second half, Creck SC’s goalkeeper remained untested, and the scoreline remained unchanged.

In a post-match interview, Andrew Bunya, Head Coach of Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos, attributed his team’s defeat to fatigue, which affected their performance in the first round.

Bunya revealed plans to strengthen his squad with new signings to improve their chances in the second round.

On the other hand, Joseph Kamwendo, Acting Head Coach of Creck Sporting Club, praised his team for their impressive 2-0 win.

Kamwendo pledged to maintain the momentum, expressing confidence in his team’s ability to continue their winning streak in the second round.
