Amapiano star Temwah on Saturday scooped the Best Zikomo Rising Star Award in the Zikomo Africa Awards held in South Africa.
It was an exciting moment for the ‘Ndili Kuti’ maker, who wrote on her social media page soon after receiving the award: “Zikomo Africa Awards. Rising Star of the Year 2024. I am so overwhelmed with joy, guys wow baby got the bag.”
She said later that she was humbled and grateful for the award.
“As an artist, winning this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication that goes into crafting meaningful stories and experiences,” the Lilongwe-based singer said.
The artist received two nominations in the Zikomo Africa Awards 2024 but failed to grab the Zikomo Performing Artist.
Temwah, who has been on the move performing at different stages, has also been nominated in the 2024 Maso Awards set to be held at Comesa Hall in Blantyre on December 28 2024.
In the category of Best Artist of the Year (Female), Temwah is up against Emmie Deebo, Lady Laika, Tuno, Theresa Phondo and Kellie Divine.
Temwah is also a nominee in the category of Secular Artist of the Year (female) in Entertainers of the Year where she is up against Emmie Deebo and Jetu. Zikomo Africa Awards acknowledges and celebrates individuals and organisations who are doing well in various industries.
