Rapper Tay Grin, popularly known as the Nyau King, has lost property following fire that gutted down his room in Lilongwe on Monday.
The artist, who recently flew the country’s flag at the Trace Music Awards, said yesterday he was at a loss of words.
“I spent the entire day resting in the very room, recovering from travelling over the past few weeks. I then left for the studio for a project and while there, I was informed about the fire,” the Malawi Tourism Council Ambassador said.
He could not be drawn to say what had caused the fire as we went to press on Tuesday.
“Officials from the Fire Department came and are yet to determine what caused the fire. I should be coming back [to you] once everything is in black and white but I am thankful to God for sparing my life,” Tay Grin said.
Lingadzi Police Station could not be reached for their comment on Tuesday.
