Patrick Mwaungulu shines for DRC club

Former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets forward Patrick Mwaungulu continues to hog the limelight in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as he inspired his club, Don Bosco FC, to a 2-0 victory over JS Groupe Bazano at TP Mazembe Stadium Monday.

Mwaungulu scored one goal for Bosco during the match.

He was also voted as player-of-the-match.

Mwaungulu did not hide his excitement.

“A goal and man-of-the-match [award] in yesterday’s [Monday] encounter; another one to the collection,” Mwaungulu wrote on his Facebook page.

This is Mwaungulu’s third goal for Bosco since he joined the club in October last year.

Mwaungulu and former Bullets teammate Lanjesi Nkhoma were loaned out to Bosco from DRC reigning champions TP Mazembe as the latter was on a two-year Fifa ban. Both Mwaungulu and Lanjesi are expected to return to their parent club when the ban is lifted in June this year.

Sports analyst Parry Chinyama hailed Mwaungulu’s impact at Bosco.

“He has settled well at Bosco. His football career keeps on getting better,” Chinyama said.

Following the win over Bazano, Bosco are sixth with 23 point in Group A of Ligue 1.
