Miss Malawi Johannesburg pageant in South Africa is making a comeback after being out of the limelight for six years.
Organisers said Monday that they were geared to give young Malawian women living in South Africa the platform to showcase their talent, beauty and cultural heritage.
The pageant has since changed management and is now under the leadership of SA Wians.
SA Wians Chief Executive Officer Rhoda J, who is also a musician, said registration was underway.
She said they were targeting to register a total of 20 contestants.
“We are excited to bring back the Miss Malawi Johannesburg pageant, which aims to empower young Malawian women and promote Malawian culture,” Rhoda J said.
The deadline for registration is January 31 2025.
The Pageant is open to Malawian women, between the ages of 18 and 35, who are staying in South Africa.
A panel of judges from Malawi, South Africa and Zimbabwe will select the winner.
