
Standard Bank Malawi has invested MWK15 million in the Robotics for Good Youth Challenge National to support technology education and youth innovation.
The competition targets students aged 13-19 to develop robotics and AI solutions for climate challenges.

The initiative, part of the Malawi Girls Can Code Too project funded by Ireland’s Embassy, is led by UN Women Malawi with government and UN partners.
Among others, winners will compete at the Global Robotics for Good Youth Challenge in Geneva on July 8, 2025.
In her remarks, Tamanda Ngombe, Head of Brand and Marketing at Standard Bank Malawi, emphasized the bank’s focus on digital education and Vision 2063 goals.
Ng’ombe said, “Our participation reflects Standard Bank’s commitment to using technology for positive change”.
Meanwhile, UN Women Malawi’s Country Representative, Letty Chiwara praised the investment said, “This demonstrates Standard Bank’s commitment to Malawi’s growth through innovation and gender equality in tech education.”
According to officials at Standard Bank Malawi, the institution remains steadfast in its mission to drive national progress by investing in education, supporting innovation and creating tangible opportunities for future change-makers.
