Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera has extended heartfelt wishes to all Christians observing Good Friday, today.
In his message, Chakwera has urged the nation to use the occasion to reflect on the values of hope, renewal and peace.
In a statement released by the State House, President Chakwera has emphasized the significance of the day in the Christian calendar, marking the suffering and death of Jesus Christ.
He has called on the citizens to draw inspiration from the selfless love demonstrated through Christ’s sacrifice to work towards a more just and compassionate society.
Good Friday, observed by Christians worldwide, marks the beginning of the Easter weekend and is followed by Easter Sunday, which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
