Namadingo to build hospital in Chitipa

Namadingo to build hospital in Chitipa

Humanitarian work seems to flow persistently in Patience Namadingo’s veins as the celebrated musician, known for his signature white shirt on stage, announces plans to construct a hospital in Chitipa District.

His latest pledge comes hot on the heels of a successful school block project at Wataka Primary School in Machinga, which he completed in under a month.

Announcing the new hospital initiative on his Facebook page on Monday, the “Tuli” hit maker said he was inspired by the impact in Machinga and is now determined to extend that spirit of service to Chitipa, bringing essential healthcare closer to one of Malawi’s most underserved regions.

“I have decided to construct a hospital on the Chitipa-Nthalire stretch. Next week, Friday,  I arrive in Chitip,a driven & inspired by what we have been able to do at Wataka Primary School in Machinga. I now deeply believe we can do more all over Malawi,” he wrote.

His post has since attracted praise from fans and development-minded Malawians, many describing Namadingo as a “man of action” and a “true patriot.”

“Your imaginations and acts are coming visually may God bless you,” commented Felix Brown on the announcement.

The school project in Machinga was a response to critical infrastructure challenges. Wataka Primary has 1,914 learners, just 18 teachers, and only 8 classrooms, forcing many children to learn in overcrowded rooms or under trees.

With his focus now turning north, the planned Chitipa hospital is expected to make a major impact in a district where access to healthcare remains a daily challenge for thousands. Communities along the Chitipa–Nthalire road often travel long distances for basic medical services.

While full details of the hospital project are yet to be released, Namadingo’s track record has already raised expectations.
