Maseko Ngoni Heritage leaders have announced that this year’s Umhlangano wa Maseko Ngoni cultural festival will take place in Nkolimbo Village, Inkosi Kwataine, Ntcheu District, on September 6.
Heritage chairperson Inkosi Makwangwala said preparations had commenced, with the first meeting already held this month.
The meeting was held at Inkosi ya Makosi Gomani V’s headquarters, namely Lizulu, in Ntcheu.
“We are happy to announce dates for the event. As preparations have commenced, we are calling on all people of goodwill to help us with materials that will be needed for the successful holding of the event,” Makwangwala said.
Meanwhile, Inkosi Ya Makosi Gomani V has said all people are welcome to the event.
“Maseko Ngonis are affiliated to different political parties.
“However, this does not mean that we must politicise the event,” Gomani V said.
This year’s Umhlangano wa Maseko Ngoni will be celebrated under the theme ‘Unity is Power’.
