Creative industry earns massive opportunity
Deal signed.

The creative industry has more to smile to as authorities are due to implement a program, befitting the growing industry.

This follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Mibawa Studios.

In the agreement, the two will collaborate in providing comprehensive media training, bridging the gap between academia and industry.

Dr. Kondwani Wella, Librarian at MUST, said they expect creative students to benefit from the agreement as Mibawa will offer the hands on experience with MUST offering the theory part of their training.

He said Malawi is on a positive trail on marking returns from the creative industry as highly placed in the 2063 national development blueprint.

On his part, John Nthakomwa, Executive Director for Mibawa Studios, describing the agreement as worthwhile given that the station has resources and that MUST is also committed to promoting the arts sector.

‘’You will notice that MUST and us shared vision and commitment to brilliance, Mibawa Studios and MUST are balanced to revolutionize media preparing in Malawi,’’ he said.

The partnership aims at producing media professionals that are ready for the market with necessary skills for the field.
