Communities receive support after Cyclone Jude

Faizan Global Relief Foundation has provided relief to 1, 000 households affected by Cyclone Storm Jude in Mangochi district.

 

‎Relief items distributed included food and non-food items valued at K100 million, such as maize flour, soya pieces, sugar, salt, cooking oil, laundry soap, blankets, and plastic basins.

‎Speaking to MIJ Online Ibrahim Omar spokesperson for the organization, said they are also constructing a school in the district in order to empower youth with basic education.

‎Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries Emma Willie has expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, especially during Ramadan.

‎According to the Department of Disaster Management Affairs the storm impacted 11 districts in the southern region, displacing 1, 019 households and affecting 26, 646 people, with 15 injured and three missing.
