Introduction
The Ministry of Health, through the Directorate of Community and Promotive Health Services – Health Promotion Division, in collaboration with Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ), Malawi Environmental Health Association (MEHA) and other partners will hold its first National conference on Health Promotion from 28th to 29th May 2025.
The conference aims to bring together all stakeholders in the promotion of health in its fullest meaning “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity” (WHO).
Health promotion is a broad and inclusive field, as highlighted in its widely accepted definition: “the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health.” In line with this, the conference will provide a platform for sharing knowledge, research findings, and best practices that contribute to improving public health.
Participants will engage through presentations, poster exhibitions, discussions, and informal interactions, fostering collaboration and inspiration across sectors.
The Ministry invites the submission of abstracts from all disciplines of health and from all sectors.
Conference Theme
The theme for the conference is: “Communicating Health: Changing Behaviors, Transforming Lives.”
