Malawi Stock Exchange-listed mobile network operator TNM has said it expects a net profit of between K8.5 billion and K8.9 billion for the year ended December 31 2024.
TNM acting Chief Human Resource and Administration Officer Chisomo Governor said this on Monday when the firm awarded top performing employees.
She said the achievement signified sustainable growth following a turnaround performance in 2023, when the firm posted a K5 billion net profit.
She attributed the performance to staff’s dedication.
“Last year, we had a good performance and are expecting huge profits, which is a turnaround from the loss-making situation. We believe that we have achieved this because our staff is working hard,” she said.
She, however, cited forex scarcity and rising inflation among challenges the business faced.
At the event, about 11 outstanding employees were awarded K1 million each, with one going home with K1.5 million.
Three of the employees who were recognised as best of the best performers got paid for travel packages each to Cape Town, South Africa, for vacation.
One of the awardees, TNM Mpamba Managing Director responsible for the Northern and Central regions Linda Moyo, described the recognition as motivating.
