The Malawi Law Society says it expects the private sector to capilitize on the Malawi International Arbitration Centre (MIAC) which will ease operations of the courts after its establishment.
This was said by MLS President, Patrick Mpaka, when Old Mutual Malawi presented a donation of K7 million to the MLS and the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) ahead of a symposium on MIAC’s launch, set for September 5-6 at Bingu International Convention Centre.
According to Mpaka, they expect that in the commercial court, there will be neutral and independent facility for the resolution of commercial and investment disputes.
Old Mutual Pension Services Company General Manager, Taonga Manda said they made the support as the establishment is long overdue for Malawi.
