Positives drawn as voter verification gets underway

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has begun monitoring the voter inspection exercise in Salima, where eligible voters are verifying their details ahead of the September 16 general elections.

MEC is urging all registered voters to visit their designated registration centres to confirm their names on the voters’ roll as part of the nationwide verification process.

Commissioner Emmanuel Fabiano is leading the monitoring exercise at Kasiyasiya and Khombedza registration centres in Salima.

This marks the first phase of the exercise, which covers the following councils: Karonga, Karonga Town, Mzuzu City, Nkhotakota, Ntchisi, Salima, Dedza, Neno, Mulanje, Phalombe, Chiradzulu, Balaka, and Machinga.
