The Civil Society Education Coalition (CSEC) has praised the Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ) for its role in producing professional journalists in the country.
CSEC Executive Director Benedicto Kondowe made the remarks after donating 19 cartons of books to the institution.
In an interview with MIJ Online Kondowe said the donation was a gesture of appreciation for MIJ’s contribution to media independence and professionalism in Malawi.
Meanwhile, MIJ Executive Director Dr. Levi Phelani commended CSEC for the support, saying it reflects the corporate sector’s confidence in the institution.
Since its establishment in 1995, MIJ has played a key role in training journalists who have been instrumental in promoting good governance in Malawi.
