Old Mutual Malawi Limited has pumped MK8.1 million toward Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM) and Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Lake conferences.
Out of the sum, MK4.5 million is for IIM Lake Conference which will run from August 29-31 at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi while MK3.6 million is for IIA conference set to commence on September 1-8, 2024 at the same venue.
Old Mutual Group Human Capital Executive Rex Kadzongwe said the company recognizes the big the two institutions is playing hence the donation.
“As a responsible business driven by the desire to impact communities, we delight in supporting professional bodies and today we are glad to cement our relationship with IIA and IIM. I am particularly impressed with the themes of both conferences which are largely speaking to propelling our country to achieve its long-term development goals outlined in the Malawi 2063,” said Kadzongwe.
Kazongwe has since revealed that Old Mutual staff members will attend the two lake Conferences.
“As Old Mutual we believe in our employees’ continues professional development, and these conferences align and support our intention. As a contribution to this professional development, Old Mutual colleagues, from different subsidiaries including our Group Internal Audit Section will attend these conferences,” said Kadzongwe.
On his part IIM President Reuben Kamanga Kawelele hailed Old Mutual for the timely support and he then urged other companies to emulate the same gesture.
“IIM is grateful for the support as it will go a long way in supporting the lake conference,” said Kawelele.
IIA Chief Executive Officer Albert Dambula hailed the relationship which they have with Old Mutual.
