Good governance experts have urged President Lazarus Chakwera to ensure the upcoming report on 600 development projects is credible and transparent.
The call comes after Chakwera announced on Tuesday, during the International Construction Day at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC), that his administration will soon release a report outlining development achievements since 2020.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Willy Kambwandira, Executive Director of the Centre for Social Accountability and Transparency (CSAT), said the report must provide accurate and verifiable information unlike previous State of the Nation Addresses presented in Parliament.
Political analyst George Chaima echoed Kambwandira’s sentiments, saying the report should include a detailed list of projects, the amount spent on each, their current status, sources of funding, and their impact on communities.
